Development for 8 final illustrated pieces.
The first time I tried to make my drawing realistic in class, on the same day as the assignment was handed out.
This is what I draw right off the bat using the knowledge I learnt in AS Art in the past, not bad for a first try without a reference near me, I'll say.
So it wasn't until I got home, that I really looked at what men and women were supposed to look like and produced, this.
As you can see there is noticeable improvement compared to my first drawings after doing some research on the Human skull, but I wasn't satisfied with it, so a few days later, I tried again.
I found out, the more I draw the better I got at realism, one of the images were done during a talk in Web design and it really showed in my later drawings.I tried again while looking at model postures from a fashion magazine.
We were than introduced to prospective, and I draw these and without my knowledge, it turned into a storyboard.

So I tried to make my own 'trail comic' that wasn't based off of my book and produce a comic from a conversation in the book.
By this point, I started to wish I had some proper tools, but this seemed to suit me.
This one was based off of one of my favourite manga books, 'Skip Beat', there are a lots of interesting and expressive panels in the book.
One of my comic pages, scanned in and coloured.
First, I took a picture of my one of my illustrations using my phone and than sent it to my gmail, where I downloaded it from there. I than opened it up in Photoshop, the above image is what it looks like in Photoshop.
Now I was facing a serious problem, I had no idea how to go over it with a much bolder outline neither did I have equipment to do so, so I used the only way I know how. By using the Polygon tool to select individual parts of image and than go over each part using a black paint paint brush which gave me a good enough outline, each different part was put on a separate layer.
What you see on top is the finished image after I was done with it. The over all tone, was inspired by what I did back in AS Art, I used acrylic paint on a drawing that was based off a HD image of myself. I realized as the weeks flow by, that it was impossible to get my skin colour without having layers on top of layers of paint over each other, and that's where the finish product came from.
The shine in two of my characters eyes, was actually done because of a Adobe Photoshop tutorial that I looked at a few years back because I was bored. If you notice, there is a blur used, especially in the top half of the illustration, I wanted it to stand out more and used the Blur tool to do so, which I am very familiar to show movement and to highlight the main image focus point.
I decided to do another one, this is a illustration, I did last night, I researched peoples faces and instead of using a straight line as the mouth, I decided to more realistic with my drawing and than, today I scanned in.
I couldn't get the Wacom tablet to work so I was stuck with the same method I used last time and as I was colouring this in, I realised it would be more effective If showed the original image underneath, I liked the dark feeling I get from the finished product.
Images of my final 8 illustration, non coloured version.
8 Illustrations.
